Key Details for the Trip
Make sure you get to Medellin on Sunday afternoon at the latest. The hotel Sunday night is included in the price along with breakfast on the Saturday after we finish the trip. The trip goes from Monday morning to Friday night.
The trip is 5 days and 6 nights and all-inclusive, meaning it will cover all food and drinks (not including liquor or wine), travel during the tour, a local Spanish speaking guide, medical insurance in case of accident, and around 2 hours of Spanish formal teaching per day.
The only thing you will have to buy aside from the tour are the flights to and from Medellín. We will have you picked up and dropped off.
We will be staying at one of the nicest hotels in Medellín.
The trip will take place in the thriving city of Medellín and the beautiful surrounding areas.

Right now, we are hoping for 12-15 students per trip (capped at 15 total).
Please keep in mind we want to try and make this a Spanish trip and will have a Spanish speaking guide and try to spend the majority of time speaking Spanish, not English. This trip is not for beginner Spanish students as Spanish will be spoken throughout the entire 5 days and we ask that you speak in Spanish most of the time.
We will also have members of the Spanishland School team with us to talk and interact with you, as well as to take pictures and videos of the trip.
=> Lecciones de español interactivas todo los días (En el hotel)
=> Ejercicios de habla con los nativos mientras visitamos los sitios.
Below you will find all the key details for the trip in infographic form.

What did a few of our previous Immersion Students say?
Mark Fisher // Previous Medellin Student

This was one of the best vacations in my life...
What a fantastic trip! This was one of the best vacations in my life (and I’ve traveled quite a bit).
What made it special was the country—incredibly beautiful, colorful, with a fascinating history. Second, our fantastic teacher Andrea—She taught us new phrases, explained local customs, history, food. She told us jokes, we played games and most importantly she encouraged us a hablar, hablar.
She even made the time on the bus fun and instructive!
Third, everyone in our group was there to improve their Spanish and we all had studied with Spanishland School. That meant we were all arrived committed to only speaking Spanish, so we helped each other struggle through phrases; we encouraged and laughed together.
Some students were more advanced, others intermediate like myself. We all helped each other and exchanged a lot of great tips. Speaking only in Spanish together was a great way to get to know each other and it really challenged, stretched my vocabulary and use of tenses.
Fourth, Nate, Andrea and Andrea’s brothers and sister were SO helpful, kind, engaging, funny. They made the trip extra, extra special. Lastly, all the Colombians we met were so friendly.
I never once felt unsafe there. We stayed at a beautiful hotel in a lovely, walkable neighborhood. I had signed up for this trip because I saw this a great way to improve my spoken Spanish while visiting a place I’d never been and I already knew Andrea to be an excellent teacher.
I had no idea how much I would LOVE Colombia, how much many places we would see and how many new friends I would make. Everyday there was fun and fascinating. I can’t wait to go back to see more of Colombia with Andrea and Nate again!

I'm definitely attending the next immersion event in Colombia...
I just returned from a week of Spanish immersion in Colombia with Andrea, Nate and Spanishland school. I have previously attended 2 immersion events in Mexico, but they were classroom based. What a difference it made having the people of Colombia as my classroom.
With a professional guide intimate with the country, along with Andrea for questions, and her siblings and Nate along assisting, it made a world of difference. We were truly immersed in the Spanish language and the culture of Colombia each and every day.
We had an eclectic mix of 14 students on the trip, just enough for a private bus, and we learned so much from each other, each helping the others in their unique way, and laughing at the mal a props.
I'm definitely attending the next immersion event in Colombia, hopefully with a group of students as fun and energetic as our group.
